From Western Transcaucasia, Kazak district comes this style kilim used to cover the tent doors for this nomadic tribe. The bold saw-tooth pattern, called “cocks comb” and the high contrasting colors of red, blue and white are unique to the Azeri nomadic tribe. Also typical is the plain weave strip section occurring at the top of the cover. A cover of this type also found various uses in the village homes, including door coverings.
