This storage bag from Eastern Anatolia, Malatya area is constructed of 100% hand spun wool using the weft-faced kilim technique.  Approximately 50 years old.  The 2 soumac bands contain 12 hooked medallions.  Interior of medallions contain “Birds’ Head” designs.  Narrow borders contain “Eye” motif.  All colors are vegetable dye.  Use of sparkling “gold” yarn is unusual and adds to value.
