Nomadic storage bag from southeast Anatolia, Antakya-Reyhanli region.  A hand crafted textile using the weft-faced kilim technique.  100% hand spun sheep wool with white cotton accents, with 2 soumak bands;  approximately 50 years old.  Sumak embroidered bands contain 10 lozenge shaped medallions surrounded with hooks motif and stylized “Bird’s Head” design.  “Eye” design against evil eye line the outer border.  All colors are vegetable dyes.
