This nomadic storage bag from the southeast Anatolian region, Gaziantep, is a beautifully hand crafted textile using the weft-faced kilim technique.  100% hand spun sheep wool with white cotton accents, approximately 60 years old. 

 

A Kurdish nomadic tribal clothes bag with 2 soumak embroidered bands on the front side, 8 hexagonal shaped medallions in stylized “hands on hips” motif.  Between medallions are also “hands on hips” design.  In narrow outer borders there are “eye” motifs.  A very important collection bag.
